Nice Tim Image.. assume you like a clean arse ;)

I’ve not ridden my traditional mtb for a few years now … it’s probably classed as a classic bike now with a triple and 26” wheels … Yeti 575

I’m in love with my eMtb though. Specialized Turbo Levo comp , with a planet3 delimiter . It’s a heavy lump but once moving is great. Going to change the tyres as they don’t seem to have the grip in these cold UK conditions

When you are out for 3-4 hours these simple things make a difference! Like heated socks !
Yeti is a nice bike but haven’t seen 26’s on a trail for ages. At least the eBike gets you out to take in those views ImageImage

Weather was stunning yesterday so got back out on mine . Might be sacrilege to say, but emtb has given me a new lease of life to get off-road again ( and I’ve been mountain biking since 1988 ) . Did realise on this ride I definitely need a different front tyre with a bit more bite as had front end wash out on a couple of occasions

Off topic cycling chat for the cyclisti out there..

I’m hardly riding my Whyte T-130 C RS now as my Rail is so much fun, so I’m probably going to sell it, although I doubt I’ll get much for it (even in as-new condition) as everyone wants an e-bike now…

First cycle ride for about 14 years...
Feeling very un-fit and adding too many Kg's thought i needed to get back into some level of 'trim'.
After restoring 2 old push bikes recently, i have been giving my Giant SEEK O some tlc (microfibre wipe, blow the tyres up) and went for an hour out and about on the old railway and canal tracks we have around the village.

It was just great. :alien:

Only had the legs burning a bit, the saddle felt like a blade but the sensation eased, and i remembered just why I bought this fab bike all those years ago.

I hope to do more 1 hour rides to ease myself back in and also to use the restored oldies too when the tracks are just dusty and not a mud bath like this afternoon. :)

Since starting to ride decades ago i never have worn a crash hat, but at my age i think a trip to Halfords tomorrow is in order.

Decathlon is the answer for all good priced/quality cycling gear Graham. Yes a helmet is a must and you will soon forget you have it on. Get yourself a pair of padded shorts too your bum and inner thighs will thank you.

The chance of getting a head injury while cycling shoots up massively once you’re over 65. But it does for walking too, last time I checked for every km travelled you were twice as likely to die from a head injury while walking than while riding a bike.

Statistically you probably ought to wear a helmet for walking down the stairs.
