Tyre size

Post by drummerboytom »

My 911 came to me on 16" wheels, which i've never been 100% happy with , just thinking about putting it back on to some 15" x 5.5 .
What size tyres are people running ?

( Originality being second to efficiency for me :) )

Hi

We've got a car with those wheels on in our workshop.

A 72 911T should be on 6 x 15s, not 5.5 x 15 (which you won't find easily anyway) on 185/70 tyres. There is absolutely no need to go for a bigger tyre size. Apart from the original 6" Fuchs there are Cookie Cutters, Minilites, steel and Dage Compomotive rims which are all much cheaper than Fuchs

You can now get the original tyres

there are also 16" Pirelli P7 as well.

this is an independent classi c car tyre test on Porsche 911 tyres.
