Weber Jet Doctors
I'm having issues with the idle jets on my Weber's on my 914 blocking. They have been cleaned quite a few times but keep getting blocked quite quickly. I have two fuel filters in but saw this video from Tom so now I'm going to clean the engine bay and air filter assembly. I've never had this issue on my 356. For example today I went back to the place that had it on the rolling road. They cleaned the idle jets again. Two days after I had. 2 where dirty. The car ran great for 10 mins but then had the same symptoms.
Has anyone added these jet doctors to their car?

KS had them fitted to his 914 before he went over to injection

No, I had extended float chamber vents.Nine One One wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 5:57 pm KS had them fitted to his 914 before he went over to injection
I have no idea why Neil’s idle jets become blocked repeatedly other than the fuel hoses between the filters and the carbs are breaking down.

Re: Weber Jet Doctors
What does the stuff blocking the jets look like, what colour is it?
I would agreed with Keith, it is whatever is between the filters and the carbs.

Re: Weber Jet Doctors
I hoovered the engine bay and cleaned the top of the carbs. They were pretty clean. I also added some injection cleaner. Somewhere Inbetween cleaning with WD-40 and adding a bottle of injection cleaner to a <1/4 full tank I made the car run horrid. Cutting out at every junction. I kangarooed to the petrol station to fill up. Then I sat at 2-3k on my drive until the a/f started to read sensible numbers again and the car would idle at 800/900.
At you can see from the photos the left side was slightly cleaner and it's fuel bowl was very clean.
Next I think maybe I have to maybe consider the distributor. Which has a vacuum advantage on it but that doesnt explain why it runs great and then 5 mins later isn't as great

Re: Weber Jet Doctors
Coil overheating? Also check the float needles are not sticking and you have any gunk in there where they seat on the surface.

Re: Weber Jet Doctors
I'm not sure I have completely solved it yet but the idle jets seem to be getting clogged. After I had the top of the carbs off one of the mixture screws was still unreactive so I had to clean the idle jet again. I also put some octane booster in and maybe this counter the injection cleaner I had put in
