Silver paint for steel wheels?

Post by 911hillclimber »

Is there a formula difference between silver aerosol paint for wheels and say normal bodywork rattle cans from (say) Halfords?

Is the wheel paint more robust?

All the marketing blurb says people use a ribust formula for wheels, I need the brightest silver I can find (ie AUDI)

How do the brakes afford retardation? On the sides of the rims? If on the side of the rims tne finish needs to be robust...

Rims are new and chromed, but looking for a strong bright silver for handle bars and other bits on the frame.
Given up on chrome paint, all snake oil imho.

Ive used silver wheel paint in rattle cans from local paint supplier to good effect. The next ones I'm going to try the Porsche silver M7Z - GT silver

Yes was all good - i used a heavy build primer as well and lacquered. These were VW steel wheels plus i did the 912 spare. Im just starting the strip and paint of a set of sprint stars for the Karmann Ghia.

Good to read, thank you.
I'll get some from the local car parts shop this morning. :)
