Sold for £131,625 - don't know if that includes the buyer's commission ...

Great car. Robert kept it for quite a while.

Was £23 or 24k when at Gantspeed in 2004, from memory.

bid to £117k so includes buyers commission but not VAT on buyers commission

What did you make of the pre-production Elite Andy? Had some nice patina

I'd had a good look over the car back in March when it was up for sale (briefly) at Paul Matty's - admittedly it has some signifcant features that didn't make it into the 'production' cars (like the fuel tank in the front wing) & important history (Earls Court Motor Show car) but it also features changes (albeit done early in its life) such as the 1500cc Cosworth engine instead of the Coventry Climax FWE which, to me, is one of the essential ingredients of an Elite.

I don't really know what you'd do with a car like this - the grp monocoque is in quite poor condition but if you attempted to restore the car you immediately wipe out a lot of its history ...

Yes - a VIN beginning with '914' identifies it as a 914/6.

A 914/4 would have a VIN starting with 47X (where X - identifies the model year)

VIN checks out.

1970 911T, Signal orange (Restoration thread)
1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Certainly looks like one.

I didn’t have a very good look at all of it yet, but skipped to the documents part and there appears to be some kind of Porsche Certificate confirming it (although not explicitly labelled a “COA” though, if that really makes any difference).
Is the VIN stated somewhere?

Are you shopping at signal orange 914s?
Thought you’d scratched your 914 itch once already?
