LWB sports seats in SWB

Post by Silver911SC »

Hi everyone

Apologies, I’ve been reading around and getting a bit confused. Hoping someone can clarify if that’s ok.

I know LWB Sports Seats are not the same as SWB, however I understand they fit, and I’d like to use the set I have.

My question is around sliding/tilting bases:

1. Would a set of LWB tilting bases fit in a SWB?
2. Would a set of LWB sliding bases fit a SWB?

And any thoughts or comments on what would be best in terms of sliding/tilting bases in a SWB, assuming I’m set on putting my LWB sports seats in there.

Really appreciate any help, and thank you for reading :)

LWB sport seats have to be used with LWB tilting bases & SWB sport seats have to be used with SWB tilting bases - you can't mix them.

As far as I remember, the mounting holes in both SWB & LWB tilting bases have the same spacing so you should be able to mount LWB sport seats/LWB tilting bases in a SWB car.

Thanks. So it sounds like both should fit. I’d be interested if anyone has any thoughts on the pros or cons or either of those bases in a swb. I wonder if tilting bases are just an unnecessary thing; they certainly add a lot of weight.

The LWB tilting bases are much heavier as the 'sliders' are part of the bases - the underside of the LWB seats themselves just have the 3-hole height-adjusting legs on them so need to be attached to the bases to allow fore/aft adjustment.
