Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Meanwhile, a few thousand miles from there...
I have a short To Do list on the Lola and have done almost all of them.
Nervy one today was to remove all 12 plugs and see if all have been working through the hill climb events.
All working, all very very similar colour (iridium plugs) and all at 0.9mm gap where I set them.
Please to say the least, removed the top off one of the PMO carbs to get a choke tube out so as to measure it for the 6 off 41 ID replacements. Was going well until it became obvious the 38mm chokes are not loose in the body of the carb. To remove them would be a total strip down.
As everything is working so well I've decided to abort the idea and leave well alone.
Chassis geo check next by McClurg Motorsport who set it up so well 10 years ago!
Untouched since then it will be interesting to see if anything has shifted.
Final To do is some localised bodywork on the front, oil change, and we are all ready for 2023.
This prospect seems a 1,000,000 miles away from the Alps.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Was tasked with setting up a 220 mile drive for Porsche Club Ireland on Sunday. My route started in Monaghan getting up to the North Coast via the Sperrin Mountains
We returned to Monaghan by 5 pm which then left me with the 90 min drive back to Belfast in the dark. The poor 911 headlight ms didn’t cope well, especially on dip, so after a consultation with Clive, I got a set of LED bulbs from ClassicCarLeds.com. Great service, ordered Sunday night and here on Tuesday morning. Easy enough to fit
Located the heat sink IC unit with a small screw to the lamp bowl, to stop it moving and to keep it clear of the original wiring and reversed the bulb heat sink to provide clearance for it to fit in.
Very pleased with the results, took it out for a trial last night and a big improvement. Will get the settings checked by the local garage as the LEDs have a different light spread pattern.

Took the new car for a spin before taking it for its winter hibernation. No room in the garage at present until the garage extension goes on in the spring.
First time I have used a car storage company, I was surprised to be greated by two full bays of 964s ..... turned out a very well known 911 restomod company uses the same storage company...... several DLS bodies and a couple of dozen 964s waiting to be stripped..........

Make sure you don’t come back to an empty bay to find your car has accidentally be turned into one

Funny you should mention that James, they had 3 large storage units, I did ask for my car to be stored in one of the other two
Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
A lot of the 964s looked like minters.....couldn't believe they were waiting to be stripped etc. My understanding is that Singer only use the chassi / floor pan and nothing else. But at $1.8M for a DLS..... buyers and Singer are obviously not bothered about butchering 964s

New bike day approaching, testing a Bird aeris 9 at Swinley forest.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Took the Lola down to McClurg Motorsport for a geo check and adjust. It has been about 10 years since last tweaked, so well overdue.
It was well out of kilter!
The car drove great, this year, so now should be mega for 2023!
Time to wrap it up for the winter and March. Just an oil change in late March and we are ready for my 32nd consecutive year of hill climbing.

Met up with fellow DDKer Cees in Amsterdam to collect rear seatbelts from him for my 1970 S. Cees kindly brought along his RS and took me for a spin. Great car in lovely condition.
