No SAE number on fuel hose
I bought some fuel hose for both my Caterham and for my 911. I bought from that place. In the description it had the SAE standard SEAJ30R6 which the hose in the picture had printed on it.
The hose that arrived didn't (see below). The seller answered a question and said despite that, it was definitely the SAE standard. Not that I don't believe them, but I don't want to take the risk.
Then I went on to thinking what standard is it that is needed for today's petrol (even if I keep it to E5)?
Thanks!
PS I'm not using my calipers to measure the fuel hose!

Re: No SAE number on fuel hose
.
I would be suspicious if the hose doesn't have the specification printed on it.
I've just fitted a new fuel pump & associated hoses to my Elite - I bought the hose (as I usually do) from Advanced Fluid Solutions via ebay & it has the spec printed on it ...

Re: No SAE number on fuel hose
The hose without the number, may be well worth cutting a very small piece off, and putting it in a tin of E10 fuel just to see what does happen to it over a period of time, just to quell any suspicions. If it turns out OK you could keep it as a spare?
Re: No SAE number on fuel hose
Very good idea!
Re: No SAE number on fuel hose
R6 is an old specification, nowadays I only fit R10 specification with a manufacture name on the fuel hose, which is 100% Ethanol proof on the inner and outer rubber.
R9 is inner only 100% Ethanol proof and outer is a different rubber; some non-branded hose I found will crack on the outer in a hot engine bay and while the R10 with manufactures name on it not to crack and stay flexable when it ages.
