I havd to strip it but two of the side screws holding the back to the upright bracket will not come out as the captive nuts in the back have come loose so i will have to try and get into the seat to sort that.
However my main worry is that i do not know how the mechanism is assembled so i do not want to pull off the side brackets and find the springs become dislodged and release.
Has anyone got experince of this fault and how to go about a repair. I assume there are meshing gears inside which have somehow become disengaged but the springs are a real concern
