Is that just the beginning of the fun. The lights ground to the body and I have a ground under the dash,?

The more grounds, the better

Re: Earth grounds on a 356A T1
I have a 6V sC AND always suffered from a sluggish starter. When i did a complete resto it was pointed out to me how important good earthing was and if done properly would prove that converting to 12 v was not neccessary. I double bolted the battery earth strap using a copper strip between the two bolts and in addition to the standard gearbox earth strap also fitted an additional one from the starter motor bolt to the gearbox U bracket bolt. What a differenceit made. Starter turns over like a 12v would and gives you lots of confidence you will not be looking around for someone to give you a push start
