1977 911S US Spec

Post by leewiffen »

Seems the headlights, full beam and dip are wired to only fire up when the ignition key is in the accessory position on my US Import
Is this standard, or has it been modified in the US?
Unusual to say the least.
I would expect headlights to be on a permanent feed, although it does make sense as later European cars, not necessarily Porsche, have that aspect as standard

Can't recall my 76 912E (US spec car) having that feature.

Sounds like it's been fiddled with, maybe so they don't leave the lights on when leaving the car?

I quite like the idea as you say that is excludes the possibility of leaving the headlights on when you leave the car

I wonder if it's an issue for an MOT when I want to register the car?
