200l compressor recommendations

Post by Flat 6 »

Time for an upgrade. I'm going to invest in a 200l compressor so just wondering who has had a good experience with what.

I get a good feeling about SGS products but there is so much choice out there, including machine mart who are doing 10% off at the mo.

Was told by a pneumatic specialist to get a belt driven one. Apparently they last longer.

Any recommendations?

I’ve got an SGS one, not sure which tank but a 3hp direct drive, which is pretty much all you can drive from a 13amp socket.

It spat a head gasket not long after buying it and the customer service from SGS was shocking… They just rebrand generic stuff from China so the didn’t hold spares.

Eventually fixed it myself with some gasket paper and it’s been fine ever since.

It’s noisy as hell and now sits inside a heavily damped cupboard!
