When some people see an obvious scam on ebay - like this one - they put in a ridiculously high bid to stop an unwary bidder from getting conned ...

That eBay ad has all the hallmarks of a scam. No details, no detailed photos. Location of vehicle is sketchy at best. Photo looks familiar. Walk away...

That engine number equates to a 1972 914/6 2 litre (Type 901/36) 6 cylinder engine

There's still nearly 5 days left before the auction ends - doubt that it will end as any form of bargain ...

I am a natural at man-maths. You're lucky I even mentioned the buyer fee. I certainly wouldn't have to my CFO

I'm needing a better CFO management strategy. I used to have a well tried and tested process, that over a few weeks went along the lines of:
Week 1 - mention how nice car xyz is
Week 2 - be "caught" looking at pictures of car xyz and say yes it's nice isn't it?
Week 3 - be "caught" looking at adverts for car xyz and say oh, that's nice isn't it, and the residuals seem to be holding up really well.
Week 4 - be "caught" making a spreadsheet of all the instances of car xyz for sale noting mileage, age, options and price and when the CFO says you're buying another car aren't you? Say yes!

Then last summer I bought a caterham from CC, spontaneously bidding on my phone on hols, literally with a glass of red in one hand and my phone in the other. No preamble to the CFO at all. That didn't go well!

That's the problem these days. Auctions give you FOMO so your 4 week strategy is straight out the window
