Bicester Scramble - Jan 22

Post by Gary71 »

Despite the cold and bleak weather there was a strong turnout. Way to many 911/912 to count and far too many people to spot any other DDKers.

Did they start it up ?

The most amazing sound of any car I've ever heard - saw/heard Nick Mason's original BRM V16 (now owned by Bernie Ecclestone I think) a couple of times doing demonstration runs at Silverstone & Brands Hatch ~ 30+ years ago (with Gerry Marshall at the wheel if I remember correctly) ...

Yes, they started it. Unfortunately I was two buildings away and it didn’t run for long. But what a glorious thing!

I also have memories from a Silverstone event from about the same period. I remember the commentary talking about misfires, still sounded wonderful!
