I am helping a friend out who owns this early 68 RHD P1800S. He has had it for 14 years. Last MOT was 2019. Then along came a pandemic and the car has been a bit neglected.
It is a complete car and the engine runs but it needs TLC.
It has some rust in the passenger side floor and some bubbling (which looks like it has been there for ages) around the screen.
The engine runs but is down on compression - around 120 across the cylinders apart from number 3 which is around 85. So it will need a strip down. It sounds smooth, but after cleaning the plugs it starts and there is no smoke, but as it runs it starts to smoke.
The brakes need attention, the pedal is at the floor. Electrics work ok. Shifts gear etc. It has a small dent in the rear where it was nudged by a 4X4.
So it should be viewed as a project car but it is far from a basket case. It was originally white. The metallic blue is nice and when done was obviously a quality job.
I am only advertising it on here at the moment - there is an offer from a Volvo specialist and we really don't want endless tyre kickers so it may well just go to them.
But a quick try on here in case of interest at £9500 ono. NOW SOLD
