I like that.

1970 911T, Signal orange (Restoration thread)
1988 3.2 Carrera backdate, Black
2001 996 Turbo, Lapis blue (am I allowed to put that here?)
I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.
Sea Dwellers are some what of an addiction for me, I’ve probably had 30 over the years. This is the perfect pair; birth year, matte dial 16660 and 2016 Ceramic 116600.
That could become expensive. All lovely, and some cool straps. My favourite is still the Tag though as it would go really nicely with a couple of Tag stopwatches on the dash of your 911.

I hope you dont mind me picking your brains im inexperienced in the watches world - I wear a Tag Carrera (circa 2005) as an everyday watch but am looking to buy a Vintage Rolex, as a memory for myself from my Dad who passed away a couple of weeks ago.
Its my 60th this year and. I was thinking a 1962 Rolex as a dress watch would be a fitting memory that I can also pass on when the time comes.
I particularly like the non-date Oyster (ref 3685) and the Air King
Any advice? Are there other vintage Brands you'd recommend I look at? Other dealers I should be looking at recognising Burlington Arcade is probably not the cheapest option!
TIA

Ex cars 993 Targa and 997 C2S......
I think you could get something nicer for that budget.
What a a 1st generation Heuer Carrera or a Breitling cosmonaute? Nicer watches imho.
Places to look are omega forums and chronotrader. Plus of course Jason and Thomas.

I was a very lucky chap, to be given a Rolex Osyter (1500/1 model) with a perspex glass and cyclops date window, for my 16th birthday in December 1981. Dad had engraved my name, and the date and "Love Dad" on the back. I wore it constantly for over 30 years and then got a couple of other watches with which it was on rotation.
This morning, my lad turned 16, and I remain a lucky chap as when I presented him with the watch (with no hint of Christopher Walken in Pulp Fiction), now with his name and 16th birthdate also on the back, he broke down in floods of tears
(and I told him I'll look after the box and papers for him! )
