Fuchs 17inch options - '81SC

Post by Prav »

Hi,

I have long been a purist and would normally only consider 15 ad 16 inch Fuchs rims. I have however gone the outlaw route on my 1981 911SC, and was considering a set of 17inch aftermarket Fuchs rims (my motivation is purely aesthetic). Are any of you using 17" aftermarket rims and what has been your experience? Any recommendations on which one to purchase as there seem to be a few options.

Lastly, if anybody has a set they are thinking of parting with, please DM me

Thanks in advance

If it's purely aesthetics that work for you then go for 17s (you'll have more tyre choice at least) If you want the car to handle as it should and be quicker round the corners then stick with 15s or 16s.

Personally I don't think 17s look right on an impact bumper model. Though RUF 17s do look the part, but then you need performance to match :)

These for sale at the moment on Facebook.

Hi Nige,

Thanks for the reply and the link. I am also wary the the 17inch option may just not look right - will hold off a bit before making a decision

HI

do you really want a 17" wheel when their are such good 16" tyres available that will be so much better suited to your car.

Pirelli make the P7 and Michelin make a tyre with lots of X's in it. Both fab tyres.
