Fuel consumption for 914 2l Webers?
I might be driving up to Glasgow on Monday for my son's MSc graduate. Looks like I might have to take my 914. The fuel gauge isn't working.
I was thinking in the motorway I would get 25 mpgallon which is roughly 5.25 mpl. 65l tank means 341 miles? I should be ok for 200 miles between fill ups? I guess I stop after 150 miles and see how much petrol I can get back in? Using my rough calculation it should be 28.6l

I used to get 28-30mpg from my 2056 on webers
I'm sure you will be fine for 200miles between fil ups.

We did 190 miles in a day on three castles rally and there was still a little left- so you should be fine,

Preferably in the front, the back gets too warm for a petrol can!Mike Smith wrote:Throw a Full Can in the Back

I do a 190-mile round trip to Wiscombe hillclimb, do four runs and still get home with just under a quarter tank after a fill up the day before.

Well I didn't get to Glasgow as William caught a cold and didn't get to go his own graduation. However, the 914 ran brilliantly. Started first time at 07:30 this morning and cruised down the M1. I will report back on mpg when I fill up next. Will not be as good as Graham's Boxster

Just filled up and I got roughly 27.7 mpg. Not bad. I wasn't taking it easy on the way back.
