No, Tesla shares are a once in a lifetime opportunity, but these trends with car manufacturers interest me and Merc have been especially interesting lately and it has paid off for them. I think Musk is the most interesting of the tech giants too, his ideas are game changers and his accomplishments astounding. I think my chum with an E Class is going to replace it with a Tesla if the wait isn’t too great.sladey wrote:You switched your shares from Tesla to Mercedes Ashley?

I had an amazon and a p1800. Fabulous cars - fully galvanised, fairly modern-feeling to drive, totally bulletproof and easy to work on. I used to daily the p1800. With overdrive, fuel economy is pretty good.Winston Teague wrote:I find myself drawn to these, as a potential practical everyday car......hmmmm

I'm looking for a pre-impact bumper 911S or other high-revving 911 to restore - please let me know if you see one.

Back to the topic of shiny aluminium on 7's, started with a bit of a shine then realised I had to keep going...

End result, not quite as shiny as Andy's and definitely more than an hour to do the whole car! Nice though I think. And if I don't like the shiny version, it'll be dull again before too long!

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
I managed to get my Fulvia Sport on track last week for a shakedown at Bedford Autodrome.
Went really well, the car handles fantastic, so flat and sure-footed, the uprated suspension settings work a treat. Lovely gearbox & LSD that helped traction, rebuilt calipers stopped well. Only issue was with the carbs sticking & what appears to be an unsuitable fuel pump - so a new Facet Comp pump & pressure regulator on order, along with a pair of carb rebuild kits.
This will make a fantastic historic hillclimb car, race car (has FIA historic papers) or a weekend road-burner, I just don't think I'll be able to use it fully as I'm getting an Alpine A110, so may put it up for sale - with five sets of wheels, sprint gearbox, different final drive ratio, and many other spares.
A genuine 1600 Sport with very straight bodywork (having lived in Italy all it's life), fully UK road registered as an historic vehicle.
It's a lot of car for not a lot of money if anyone knows someone that'd be interested.

Looks really fab!
One picture tip for flickr is when you share, use the "BB code" option and just paste that text into the post. That takes care of it and displays the pics

I love the colour and the livery - it looks the business.
