Hi from Nova Scotia, Canada

Post by Warren914 »

Hi from Nova Scotia, Canada.

My car is a '74 914 2.0, presently in the shop for full engine and transmission overhaul and installation of an air conditioning system.

I'm planning a European trip for summer 2023. My daughter lives in Scotland and inlaws in northern Italy. Those will be my sort of bases for exploring. Two week ride to Shetland, and a three week trip through Germany, Italy, and France.

I expect there will be some sort of rally in Stuttgart for Porsche 75th anniversary.

Hope to meet other drivers during the adventure.

Where … LeMans ;)

It’s the centenary of LeMans in 2023, so the 24hrs will inevitably be a special event, but most of us will be heading to the Classic event and it’s celebrations which is usually first week of July

Lovely place to live.
I’m on the other coast.
Quite appropriate you live in Nova Scotia!

Mike:

Part of the drive will be to visit Orkney and Shetland, followed by Outer Hebrides and back to Anstruther. Figure it's about 3-weeks to do the loop without rushing.

Sounds like a great plan. There is so much to see on that journey but three weeks should be enough.
Orkney is fascinating, Outer Hebrides are stunning, west coast fabulous.
Why don’t you do a little photo blog on here when you get going?

Mike

Lots of planning to do prior to departure. Retirement planned end of next year and the trip will be summer 2023. I've been looking at European cell phone data packages and will be taking lots of photos. Don't have a copilot for the full trip. My daughter has expressed interest in part of the trip as has my gf. Neither of them can take time off work and studies for the full 8-10 weeks away. Northern Scotland may be a solo ride.
