New but old member!!

Post by ditchvisitor »

Having been on the forum for a rather long time, I’m finally in the position to post as an owner!
I’ve just agreed a deal on a RHD 1972 911 that is a 1974 3.0 RS rep after having received the go ahead by Chris at GCR Central after he inspected it for me. I cannot wait to get the car and get started on some improvements, it’s remaining with him for a while to sort a few little bits however it’s a very solid and well improved car. The spec is:

Built by Bob Watson and based on ‘72 RHD, G50 box, 350hp 3.8l engine, 950kg, IROC look, Custom Cages FIA historic welded rollcage, Motordrive seats – Porsche logo, Heated windscreen, Polycarbonate windows, GRP roof, front wings, bonnet and engine cover, AP brake calipers front, 3.3 turbo rear (930)
930 trailing arm, Motec M48 ecu, Kaaz plate diff, 4.00 final drive (~150mph max), Mocal oil cooler, Ohlins adjustable dampers, 30mm elephant racing rear torsion bars, 22mm elephant racing front torsion bars, Adjustable anti roll bars, elephant racing rear, porsche front, 3.8l 964 engine – unit eleven porsche, mapped wayne schofield, Schrick cam 040, GT3 crank, Uprated valve springs, Jenvey ITBs throttle bodies, Stack instruments, Momo wheel, 8” front wheel Fuchs, 9” rear wheel Fuchs, Michelin TB5 tyres

350bhp and under a tonne. Crumbs. I bet that’s quite a thing. Congrats!

I'd imagine it feel quiet raw to drive! Are you going to make it a little softer for road use? Just wondered given your post re: seat
