I'm highly suspicious of the identity too, particularly because the vendor acts as if he knows nothing whatsoever about the car but the very first thing he sent me upon me getting in touch, was a photo of the engine number. I already asked for a photo of the VIN - he said he's checking the paperwork.Sam wrote:The interior and motor certainly look 74-5 Carrera. This 911 has been for sale for a very long time. It’s been mentioned on here before. I’d be highly suspicious of its identity.

I checked the VIN on there assuming the digits have been mis-read as I hypothesise and it is indeed a white car known to come from Germany. They haven't changed the description at all, so who knows what it actually is. Would take a lot of money to restore as well if it is a 1974 Carrera 2.7

I think this is most likely a stolen 1974 Carrera RS 2.7 worth around £200,000 (or £0 if you possess it and are not the owner).
The claimed VIN is 911 2500 537 and here's a pic:
But that VIN is for a 1972 911T, which this is clearly not. Additionally, correct me if I'm wrong but I think 1972 VINs were spaced like: 911 2 500537
Then last digit of the engine number looks to my eye to have been filed off:
I have advised the vendor who sounds legit.

Yes, that’s a fake VIN stamp. Google will show you it’s nothing like a Porsche one.
