Help with seats

Post by sennen »

I’ve had these in storage for a while and as I am in the middle of a house move, thought it was a good time to move them. So I stuck them on eBay but I’m getting loads of questions about what year etc and I have no idea, can anyone help. I know they have been recovered

They are 68 SWB

Three back fixing hinge screws (SWB)
Black hinge spring covers ( 68)
68 SWB normally has a locker on both seats but can't see
68 was first SWB pole headrest year
SWB runners on the bases fron what I can see :)

.

I would say they are 1968 seats that have what appear to be later ('72/'73) 'peanut' headrests.

Garry (Halll) or Mike (210bhp) are really the men you need to identify them correctly ...

If the provision for headrests are original, they're 68.5 (as opposed to 68.0) seats.

Can you send pictures showing the underside of the seat bottoms?

So 68, short wheel base with later headrests??

Any ideas of worth? Just that I have no use for them and would rather get rid of

For me, the recovering hasn’t gone well so I’d say they are ‘driver’ quality. The material is not correct either. It may turn out that the headrests (if original) could be the best bit for someone looking for the later peanut type.
£500 the pair is my guess. Maybe a little more if the headrests are A1.

Regards
Mike

Edit, I think the headrest material matches the incorrect recovered seat material(?) from what I can see so I’ll stick with £500.

That's the sort of figure I was thinking of too - since most potential buyers would need to factor in the cost of getting them correctly re-upholstered ...

Why not list them here in the for sale section as it's cheaper than ebay?
