Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
Love to see the effect on the market of bringing in CGT on sales over, say, £200K...

A great collection but seems strange to put them on the market all at the same time. Won’t that swamp the market a bit? I guess they are all pretty much blue chip examples and quite broad in their appeal. I’m with Yoda, some of those prices look low.

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
Those prices are just guesses from some bloke on PH!
I think it strange to put them all on in one go as well. Must depress the prices surely?

Did it sell? Assume not....would be interesting to know if the reserve was unrealistically above your estimated value...Sam wrote:Dunno. It’s a while ago but as far as I recall the history is unknown. As the images show, I sold it for £17k , at that time that decent reps were £40k+.
I’d say half there price of a good one is still where it wants to be. If you can get it for £35k it’s a good bit of fun. If it goes beyond £40k you’d probably be better getting something else.
When they were £17k, or the £9k I gave, it didn’t matter much about VINs and fat-bottom-bumpers and jumbo tins of filler.
Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
It didn't sell although I didn't see what it was bid to. When I looked about 10 mins before the end it looked like it was going bid to 40 ish.
I decided that even though my car isn't likely to be back in action this summer, it would just be too complicated to buy a stand in as it were. Also at early 30s it felt comfortable, at 40+ it didn't!

Also I'm surprised noone spotted and asked about the targa vin!

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
Not at all an uncommon 'conversion' when Targas were so much cheaper, and before originality was king.gridgway wrote:Also I'm surprised noone spotted and asked about the targa vin!
Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
yes, just curious really as to the history of the coupe bodyshell that then had a targa VIN attached.

Is the owner(s)/seller of these cars an individual or a fund?yoda wrote:gridgway wrote:and one eminent PH'ers prediction of sale price...IMI A wrote: 1971 PORSCHE 911 T 2.2 £100k

The individual and his seems to be well known and well regarded in car circles including DDK and PH (porsche bit), although not (known) by me.
By all accounts it's his personal collection, and very nice it is too!
