Yo!
Where have you been for all these months!
Hope you will post a few pics of your LD if you like?

I enjoyed the TV above, my first 2 wheel restoration.
Found a lot of pattern parts were poor, exhaust down tube was 1.5" off centre to the silencer, that kind of thing, had to cut and weld it to fit..

Never rode it. :?

Looks very nice - well done - when are you allowed to actually take it for a ride?

Thanks!
Not broached the subject of actually riding it yet, almost scared to see what the wife really feels, but I don't think she likes the idea at all and would rather I sell it and start on something else in the safety of the garage.
That conversation is needed soon, but there is a pattern, BUT they were my decisions.

Done and sold unridden, all of them..

Christened the bike in 2 ways yesterday.
Actually rode it p and down the cul de sac in first, super smooth and lots of 'go' for 20 bhp, felt nice, drum brakes need bedding in!
Did that a fair few times too, been a long time since 1969.

Left the bike calmly ticking over close to the 911 on the drive outside and after a few mins went inside the garage for a cloth only to hear a CRASH sound.

Bike had fallen over off the side stand and onto it's side just missing the 911 but breaking the front brake lever and scraping the RHS silencer, but nothing else I can find.
A luck escape. Lever on order, and will be re-checking for any damage again this afternoon.

Will be insuring it next week (RAC: £65 Comp and £6K value, 1000 miles and no NCD) and when the raceaboutrangerovers have all gone back to work and their kiddies to class the roads will be safe to venture out on.

I'm both excited and scare, not in equal amounts.
