Looks mega Jon! What’s the verdict on the Rasant kit? Does it make decent power?

Fabulous. I’d rather have that than a singer any day.

Cracking job mate.Apart from fine engineering, your aesthetic choices are spot on.Hopefully youll be Dyno in that.Keen to know what sort of numbers, with the Rasant kit.

It certainly feels good by my seat of the pants dyno! Living on the West coast of Ireland means it's not easy to find someone running a dyno who has experience with air-cooled Porsche engines running Motec (read - impossible)

So we set them up on the road with the Butt dyno, as best we can, with a recommendation that the customer takes it over to the UK to chip wizards or similar when they get a chance.

That said this engine wasn't about power but drivability and reliability, I chose the Rasant kit because it runs Motec and also still leaves all the amenities such as idle control, cold start, resonance valve, anti stall, etc, in place to give an on the button engine in all conditions whist giving the engine most of the character of an early mfi.

See here for the two side by side EFi and MFi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOD-DNaIi3o

Rasant are also one of the few companies that design, manufacture and install their own products. Which is a very different experience from those who simply manufacture.

Thanks Mike, that's quite a compliment.

It does of course help when we have a customer with whom you see eye to eye and also lets us run with our own creative side to an extent.

It's another project that's going to be hard to give back!

Jon- you are really setting the pace with these builds! Glad to see that there is an appetite - although I’m sure BREXIT hasn’t helped?
