OK, so it's a VW...a drag race Karmann Ghia. Owned and built by Martin Friedschröder – and when I say built, I mean built. He runs a CNC business and has gone out on his own in terms of engine design and manufacture, making everything he can, including his own conrods, heads, fuel injection system, trans... Here's a build thread that is worth following through to the end, so you can see his amazing engineering skills and thought processes. Best of all, he's a really nice friendly guy who will tell you everything, and why he did it.

The engine makes around 440bhp at 9200rpm normally aspirated. Not bad for a flat four, but with more to come...
