Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I used JBLs all round in mine, with an under seat amped sub woofer in the void behind the rear seats. Without yet doing any sound deadening / vibration damping, it sounds pretty stonking in what you say is a nice small space.
The only issue is that with the girls in the back (a rarity to be honest), even on low volume the sub makes them want to wee!

Quite warm today, so wheeled the old 911 out and decided to charge the 10+ year old Bosch Silver batteries.
Charger dropped from 8 amps to 1.5 and staying there for the low charge rate.
These have been fantastic batteries.
Car last run months ago.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I was reading an article on brake upgrades for my 996 GT3. I’ve never felt the brakes weren’t up to the job, but the article was saying it’s not that they perform poorly but they wear out quickly and are expensive to replace. They suggested that discs would only last 3 or 4 Trackdays. I’ve done 3 Trackdays and about 11,000 miles in mine and never changed the discs.
So out with the micrometer and sure enough the front discs were below minimum spec.
Priced up discs and pads at Porsche, Christ they are expensive. Discs £400 each. Pads £400 for a front set and 12 anti squeal shims at £15 each. Managed to do a bit of searching and found OEM discs and shims and went with EBC pads as had been using them anyway and seem fine. All in for £450. Bit more reasonable.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I can't remember the last time I pushed the cars out of the garage and embarrassed to admit that both needed a jump start, that's never happened before!
Not comfortable taking the cars for a proper drive during lockdown so just a quick run along the dual carriageway in each to get the oil hot and blow out the cobwebs.......absence certainly heightens the senses, absolutely love these vehicles, both feel so right and wouldn't change a thing on either
Cheers,

Very little as I ran out of gas.
Need to do a minor repair I found on the scuttle. Plans blown as the gas comes from Wales!
And they shoot you at the border these days

Small bottle from Machine Mart?
Darren, both look great. what about an update from your Phat Phender project?
I have to push my old banger out every time I want to work on the Honda motorcycle, so maybe feels good every day!

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I completely fooled up the paint job on the bonnet of the 914. I put some clamps on the cover to stop it riding up the bonnet. All that did was to have the wind use the clamps to take chunks of paint on. I think the solution will be to put a white strip across the front of the bonnet to cover

Sadly, nothing........... just like all the other days.
Might have to try and get some enthusiasm to go and kick some tyres. Hi Andy how's tricks you building a 917 replica yet?

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Starting the transformation - back-pad coming out today... Mega-expensive Recaros from an ex-works Le Mans RSR.
OK, I lied. Cobra RSR seats - great value and slim enough to fit in a 914. Just need to remove back-pad so seat can move back further.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
I'm working on that - the seat mounts need to be lowered as they are about an inch too high. Once that's sorted, will be weighing up the options.
