I gather it's at or near Bourne... Raymond Mays driving the V16 BRM through the streets. As you do.

Thanks Keith, I thought it was a BRM and I think that may be South Street in Bourne. Great pic.

The kid with his hands over his ears brings the sound to life in that photo. Thanks for sharing

.

- & what a fabulous noise they make - 1.5 litre producing 600bhp @ 12,000 rpm !!

I remember seeing/hearing a V16 BRM do a few laps of Brands Hatch when Nick Mason owned one (I seem to recollect he spent a fortune on the engine rebuild only for it to expire after relatively little use ...

A 'might have been' fabulous noise. Coventry Climax 1.5 flat 16 on the test bench. Complete engine rebuild required every 3 hrs...

No! Notice it's on the continent, so the Alfa's actually parked up, probably with steam issuing from beneath the bonnet...

Shame it never happened! To relate this back to the BRM picture I believe Hall & Hall have been building the later H16 engine from the drawings - Maybe they were practicing for the V16 'continuation' cars!

Looking at the ground clearance, it must be for the Off Road market...........if it’s real.
