Where the best place to buy a starter motor for a 1972 2.4E and is it worth paying extra for a high torque type

.

Personal opinion but if I had to buy a starter motor for a 911 I'd go for a high torque version.

I've fitted one to every Porsche I've owned over the past 15+ yrs - bought from Auto Electrical Supplies:

I bought an exchange one from type911 a couple of years ago and it seems fine but then my motor has normal compression.

The high torque one is also lighter, I’ve had one in my 72S since it was restored
