Isn't sitting in a car park watching an old film just a little bit sad! But then each to his own.

Misty morning = bright day out.
Mrs Hillclimber suggested the 911 (!) so we toured to a localish beauty spot in Church Stretton, all National Trust.
Nobody there when we arrived, the world was there when we left at 2.00pm.
Car was great, I missed Gary's seat but wife did not!
This car is so good, nice day and took my mind off the imminent bill for repairs to a smelly diesel Skoda this afternoon.

.....I guess, and probably on a par with frequenting a forum full of boring old blokes.Grenoble39 wrote:Isn't sitting in a car park watching an old film just a little bit sad! But then each to his own.
....something a little different and a bit of fun. My invite was from the Dick Lovett Cylinder Club and they always do things right so a nice picnic and coffee provided along with the obligatory popcorn. Plus a radio to listen to the movie for those that needed one.hot66 wrote:Any good Darren ?
The other side of the airfield plenty was happening with a lot of car clubs and interesting classics on show along with period rally cars demonstrating around the circuit. With everything happening outside the main buildings it was good to have a walk around Bicester Heritage itself without fighting the crowds.
All in an enjoyable few hours spent and you can never tire of watching the Italian job!
Cheers,
Darren

I was there Saturday Darren- with Tango 914!
I didn’t do the film thing but it was great to get out and see some cars and catch up with a few folks.
Made a72 hour round road trip from the west coast of Ireland - was worth it- might be all we get this year!!
Better than sitting at home forum surfing any day.

Went to Air Cooled night at Caffeine & Machine
The proportions are a bit odd on this but it is pretty tidy and good bit of fun on a Boxster.

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Purchased a Cobra Classic RSR seat for the 914, plus some harnesses, all in the quest to stop me sliding around on the stock seat! They're only 10mm wider than the stock seat at the front (5mm per side, so won't affect handbrake). Just need to sort out adaptors or brackets to mount it. Everyone was quoting a four-week delivery slot as Cobra is a on a Covid-induced go-slow, but JJC Race & Rally on eBay had two in stock. Ordered yesterday late afternoon, being delivered later this afternoon!
I like the period style (sort of cross between Recaro, Scheel and a bunch of other 1970s perches).

Took the 914/6 out in the autumn sunshine to Newton Poppleford for MoT
Failed! Headlamp aim too low nearside - major defect!!
Crispin likes to find something wrong so that it doesn't look as though early Porsches get through every time , and the handbrake went through first time!

A couple more 6 pot 914s on the move today.
Essex drive with friends: first time mine’s been out this year, having just completed gearbox conversion to 915.
First time my and Stephen’s car have been out together too.
Got back just before the rain arrived.
Perfect.
