Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
I've recently take this watch in part exchange
Tissot Prs 516 Powermatic 80 T100.430.16.041.00
It's basically as new with all the box, papers, manuals, spare links for bracelet - everything.
Comes on a blue sailcloth strap with Tissot bracelet in the box with links if you want to have that fitted
Lovely size, great dial, display case with Swiss auto movement. Just a very nice thing for somebody or the perfect gift given the condition.
Cheapest I can find online is £500 and it was £1000 new. I'll sell it for £400 delivered

agree, initially i liked the look but i cant really work out how you tell the time on it - the only bit i now like is the silver dot needle which is the 911 speedo...

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there
Ever fancied a good value 'tribute' watch which isn't
1.The original manufacturer's tribute that cost as much as a good original ?
2. A ghastly Far east version with a silly name like Bregay or Patrick Fillip ?
Well, you might have heard of the well respected movement and watchmaker Landeron.
They have some interesting 'tributes'.
One that I do like is the Landeron Type 20. This is obviously a tribute to the Breguet Type XX.
It certainly looks the part and nicely detailed with an antique application to the Luminova hands
and hour markers.
The movement is a Seagull TY2901-ST1901. No ordinary Chinese movement , it's essentially
a Swiss Venus cal 175. Seagull purchased all the Venus production machinery and parts from Venus
and it's a very reliable and accurate movement.
The dial is clearly marked Landeron so makes no attempt to deceive it's origin's.
A new Breguet XX would set you back £ 7000 ish. The Landeron about £ 490.00
I have no connection with Landeron and obviously can't vouch for quality but being
a part of the Swatch group I assume must be reasonable. Breguet is also a part of Swatch group.
They also make a good copy of the Enicar Super Jet and Super Dive for those looking
for Compressor clones.

Not available but thought you may be interested in this ...
First purchased from Watches of Switzerland in 1974 as an 18th Birthday present Vintage Heuer Monaco 73633B - not worn a great deal over it's lifetime
The former owner speaks fondly of the watch as it is a reminder of his days as an athlete when he was on the national decathlon squad with a certain Daley Thompson. In those days chronographs were not so common and this Monaco was used for timing at events.

If
If you’re buying a vintage Monaco it’s essential to buy the best dial condition you can and this is very good, excellent in fact. I’ve had many Monaco’s over the years and this one’s dial is in the top three

Anyone with deep pockets might be interested in this very special Autavia for sale. Even during these challenging times the estimate of $20-40k seems low?
