Timing , valve clearances etc etc

Due to all my books etc being in packing boxes (don't ask :roll: ) I have not got access to some info I need.

Basically, what are all the settings I need for my 1967 2.0 (130bhp) motor when I service it? eg timing, valve clearances etc etc

I'm running an MSD so I think I set my plug gaps .25

According to my Porsche lttle spec book:

Valve clearance: .004 inch or .10mm - COLD
Point gap: .016 inch or .40mm
Dwell angle: Bosch - 38 (Marelli - 40)
Timing: Bosch - 30 BTDC@6000rpm. (Marelli - 35 BTDC@6000)
Plug gap: .014 or .35mm

Guess what I'm doing today too! Mind those knuckles and keep your head away from the fan at 6000rpm!

Hi the valve clearance is 4thow or 1mil on the 160bhp 2.0 S the timing is 30 before TDC at 6000 rpm, use 8 to 10 BTDC at tick over and go from there I will check the corect setting for the T.Regards Berny.

Sorry I have just looked in the Raparaturleitfaden the timing for the 2.0 130 bhp engine with the bosch JFR6 disey is TDC. The T engine with Marely disey is 35 BTDC at 6000 rpm. Regards Berny.

4 thou is NOT one mm , (39.35 would be one of those) ... guess you meant to put 0.1 ??

thanks for the info.

Thinking about it last night whilst in bed & I realised some of the info is on the stickers on the rear slam panel :)
