Lovely weather today, just a shame I can't go out for a blast around the lanes.

I’m OK [and need] to do certain aspects of my work, so long as I’m by myself and not touching stuff. So I’ve been enjoying the sun in the targa.

The spoiler seems to be stuck up though. ☹️

Amongst the many cars I have owned in nearly 60 years 2CV's remain the most endearing. I bought my first one after having a Cortina 1600E stolen twice in 2 weeks and written off, resulting in the loss of all my No Claims Discount. At the time I'd lost interest in speed and cars but the 2CV reinvigorated all that - basically it could be driven flat out anywhere without infringing speed limits! Such fun. One of the biggest attractions was using the 2CV for picnics - drive there, top off, doors off, stop, remove seats and enjoy the comfort al fresco whilst eating the picnic.
That was a 'modern' car, barely 3 years old when I bought it circa 1975...
Then I bought an early 2CV off a student in Harrogate for £25 as a 'hobby'. 425 power packed cc. Its' most endearing features - thr Trafficlutch, which at tickover you could sit in 1st gear in traffic and the clutch would engage as revs increased, so a semi automatic; the second feature was the windscreen wipers that were driven off the back of the speedo so the faster you went the faster the wipers wiped! (Speed is a relative term with 2CV's). I never got this car on the road legally and it was bought by a passer-by.
Bought my son one for his 17th and he used it extensively for 9 years
Happy days
