Yes, 'Spats' Wilkinsons Y Type.
Way back then we were good friends, and all part of the flourishing Midlands hot rod thing.
Spent a lot of time with them all and some time as John built his Model B Ford bought from Norfolk.
It was a great time.
Still exchange Xmas cards with Sue and John.

Amusingly I have run a Ford 150 Ligthning as my daily driver for 17 years. They stopped making them in 2004. I am on number five now. Last one I bought from a friend. One owner with 5000 miles on it. Silver. I love them. Handle fairly well for a truck. Low 5's to 60 and pretty much 150 flat out.

You did. It lived outside my flat in Brockley along with 4 other T34s until Lewisham UDC tried to say I was running a business from home. I sold it to the Enforcement officer. Lovely lady...

Didn't I have an early T3 auto Notchback off you as well with crazy paving paint, similar colours? Definitely had a very straight Fastback in a nice Pale blue off your drive - which unfortunately went on to be butchered by some arrogant cock in Highbury.

The Lightning is a good choice. Not too big. Body is 6'8" wide and it will go through a 6'6" width restriction just but you really need to get to know the truck. You will usually run the tyres down the kerb each side. 7' is a breeze. My current truck averages 19mpg. Most have been around 17mpg. I always use VPower. The SRT10 is just too juicy unless you have really deep pockets. I have a very good Porsche mate who has run both. In most real world situations the Lightning is quicker. The SRT10 just has the edge top end. But they are big. Then again you can easily tune the Lightning but I have never bothered. My business partner ran one for a couple of years so between us we must have racked up well over half a millions miles. Gary's truck packed up on him once and it was a simple electrical issue. Other than that I have never had one let me down. Probably spoke to soon. But they are pretty bullet proof.
