Good to have a project.

This caught my eye this evening, the perfect lockdown project.

As it is, Hayley has a list of things for me to do.... but once I've finished fitting the new window, made a new front door and built a staircase I'm definitely building a Carrera engine. :)

Have you got any housebound projects on the go ?

Looks very cool. Definitely, my list (so far);

- Bolt in chassis frame for corner steadies on our new motorhome (started tonight)
- Granite butchers block inspired trolley for our pantry to keep it cool this summer
- Shoe storage seats for the hall to match the cupboards and window seat I made last year

And then the fun projects for me;

- I have just ordered a seat restoration / dye kit for the light grey leather seats in the 964. The only bit of the car here, I figured I might as well do them now!
- Continue with the mk1 Mini Cooper gin bar I started last year but put on hold for other projects. This is really for my wife (her idea) but loving the designing / building process, though it might lead to a small house extension as we want to put it somewhere other than when we first planned

By the end of the summer, everyone will have the cleanest houses, best kept gardens, no projects left to do and babies on the way (apart from the last bit for us!)

Haven't touched a car for weeks, or a motorbike, but have been busy. Restored the wood on the Garden Globe, and adjusted the seat height on Mrs Hillclimber's garden weeding seat...
Have re-kindled a very long ago hobby when I was in short trousers, model aeroplanes.

Just finished this one, a Standard Buccaneer with 3 channel radio and all electric, 60" wing span.
With nowhere to fly/crash it, I've just got another one which will be far more demanding, a rubber powered free flight Supermarine S6B, all 24" wing span.
Picture is off Google where several have been converted to radio/electric in the USA.

Bet I'm the only one on here with this interest!

Well enjoy it guys.

Presently I am revisiting primary school spelling, shapes, patterns and symmetry whilst balancing it against basic french, motte and bailey castles, simplifying basic algebraic expressions and making a rain gauge.

Then I sneak to the garage to self isolate in the evenings. Presently putting my seats back together. Matt

I bet you aren't! I have a nascent interest. I built a trainer with (well for actually) my son many years ago and had a few goes. Then he lost interest and it stopped. So I still have that in reasonable working order. I also have an Acro Wot kit under my bed just waiting to be built. Mind you, by the time I get back to it, only electric will be allowed!

So to my projects...
Finish restoring the block paving drive at my Mum's house (is that allowed?)
Finally finish fixing the T after its driveshaft shenanigans
Build speakers - BBC monitor repro kit - starting by working out how to use my new dovetail joint jig
Learn how to fly my cheap chinese drone
Learn how to fly my electric heli (that's really hard)
Convert some speakers to "active" and work out how to programme the Digital Sound Processor
Upgrade my NASs to larger capacity
Build a boombox mini

I bet I get hardly anywhere with that lot!

- Changing the starter on my clio v6 which expired last week - 3hrs in and still havent got the starter off.....

- Making a garden bench from an old enamel Rowntrees chocolate advertising sign, cast iron bench ends and some oak.

- Chainsawing the gorse down from round the pond

- snagging on the 911 which had its first major run 2 weeks ago

- Fitting a smaller leather Mota-Lita on the Mustang, fed up with the big ole wooden one

1944 VW Schwimmwagen (originally a Porsche typ128, eventually VW166)
A bunch of other crap (according to my wife)

Ha, yep a companion piece for the ejector seat indeed! Thread might be worth a re-visit if you’re really bored....

I used to do a ton of radio and free flight 'back in the day'

Did several Ben Buckle vintage planes including a Majestic Major which I think was 88" span. Ran it with a Saito 50 fourstroke but would have looked a lot better with an OS60FS.

I think much of the stuff is still in the loft. Mmmm ...

Loving the Supermarine. Really like the idea of doing some Vintage rubber. Ooh, just remembered Trexler vintage aircraft wheels. Yum 8)

What's on my list?

Finish my Audi A2 diesel (rescued from the scrappers) project, MOT'ed this week, plenty still to go.
Austin Trophy Special body (already spoken for so need to do another one for me). Will do thread if any interest.
Secondary glazing and acoustic wall to guard against busy road (naturally now utterly, utterly deserted). Pretty sure I won't do a thread on that

As I can currently legally work and have a car in (Darren's) and plenty of materials I reckon that'll do for now.
