Fuchs wheel finishes

Post by rhclassics »

Good afternoon everyone, we're in the process of restoring a 1971 US delivered 911T back to original factory specification and we're just about to send the wheels off to be restored.

Can I just double check that the correct finish for the bright inserts of the wheels is polished, rather than frosted/anodised?

Best regards

Polished and then anodised. Really stand out if you just polish them. If they're going to somebody who knows their Fuchs they should know if not I'd consider Canford Classiscs, Early 911 or Biaggio

Are the Fuchs ‘deep sixes’ or 5.5 x 14 Fuchs?

Bit of a Hijack but does anyone have a photo of a polished Fuch pre Anodising? I'm interested in How 'polished' you need to go.

The far right rim is polished, the next on the left are anodised. You can see how much a mirror polish is dulled by the anodising process. The far left rims are RSR finish.

Lee, your rims will be anosied by Friday
