FUCHS 5 1/2 J 15 - Protection of highly polished areas

Post by chrismarine »

just completed polishing to a high gloss and painting the rims.
any suggestions on how to protect the polished glossy areas to “delay” the dullness effect?

thanks

Not exactly a home brew method but anodising is the right way. Other than that some wax and regularly polishing them

thanks for the quick response,
quite a few workshops in Athens area claim they can anodize but quality standard is still questionable.

For now I will try a few different wax types and consider sending the rims to france for the full reconditioning.

A good spray of Gibbs brand helps repel the elements. Then occasionally wash it off and re apply
