I also prefer the 3rd gen Impreza to the 1st.

Sadly the production model isn't a patch on the concept. Big disappointment to me.

Bigger wheels and a tickle with the slamming stick and it’s closer than most production cars get to the concept.

But I think it’s ruined by how the roof/windscreen junction has changed. The whole glasshouse on the concept is lovely. I guess it’s an aero/wind noise thing.

Production Engineers got hold of it!
See what you mean about the whole roofline design, must have been too tricky ($$$$?) to follow the concept.

The AUDI TT and the Boxster managed to get through this stage relatively unscathed I think.
