The kids aren't gonna fit in the back of the 356 much longer, but dropping the dog off at the in-laws made it feel a bit more spacious.

We did the Mini factory tour in Cowley which was great, but my dreams of the other tourists being eliminated in a series of manufacturing accidents before BMW pronouncing me the winner of a bizarre succession plan failed to materialise...
maverick
noun
1. an unorthodox or independent-minded person.
2. an unbranded calf or yearling.
Origin mid 19th century: from the name of Samuel A. Maverick (1803–70), a Texas rancher who did not brand his cattle.

A lovely day spent driving the Norfolk coastline. From Happisburgh to Wells with stop offs on route

Drove to Bruges, and then on to the Onassis meet in Germany.

Scratch-built 906 anyone?

Took my Crayford RHD 914 to the Crayford Day at Westerham brewery--had a great day there.
Even managed to get David McMullan to sign my car, then after a lengthy discussion with him, his fabricator/engineer
and his upholsterer, all 3 agreed it is the very 1st 914 that Crayford converted to right hand drive.

Happy days.

Ian

Rolled the 911 out of the garage today to access the motorbike, and was met by a 50mm dia splodge of CV grease on the floor almost on the centre line of the car and rear axle drive shafts...

Quick peek under shows a displaced CV gasket and a bit of CV grease spray over the gearbox cooler, hot, so the excess grease dripped down to the floor.
Never ever happened before in 30 years, so always something to do on these old cars.

I must have replaced the gasket badly last Feb when the engine went back in.

Oddly, I have 4 new gaskets in 'stock', gathered over the years of 'need 4 buy 5 incase I break one'.

Job for tomorrow, and check the other 3.
