A well-known car.
Shame it's not still how it was when Russell had it ...

is that the one Brain Burrows built ? If it is I loved it in its 'hot-rod' form

Yes - BB commissioned Russell to build it (most work being carried out by Neil Bainbridge) but I think he changed his mind before it was finished so Russell kept it for a while ...

Re: 1972 'S'...£200k and hasn't even got its original engine
Maybe not. But another 500 quid for some proper hinge bolts and a headliner with the correct pattern might have been money well spent.it may not be commercially viable to restore a 2.4S to this obsessive standard today
Sorry, nit picking, provoked by the even-more-than-usually-nonsensical sales description. This bit is particularly awful:
It does look very nice. I can imagine it would have been nicer still as a hot rod, or a race car. Anyone got pics of that?... has been generally acknowledged by those who truly understand these cars, as possibly one of the finest restored examples available anywhere...

Had a good look at it at Goodwood the other weekend, lovely, but looked over restored to me.

Not researched '72, but I believe that a UK RHD 69S is one of 32, and a UK RHD 70S is one of 35.

If it had been over restored I’d like to think the horn grill and the sidelight/indicator lens might have lined up a little better!tim69s wrote:Had a good look at it at Goodwood the other weekend, lovely, but looked over restored to me.

What’s up with the wheels Mike? Look ok to me, other than a slightly matt finish maybe?
Gearshift tower looks ‘73 rather than ‘72, but I might be wrong on this one as well!
