Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
The 125cc Bantam was a design pinched from DKW at the end of the war. It was a good little bike and the GPO used them to deliver telegrams. It’s top speed was forty, so you can imagine how we as kids reacted to the arrival of the 125cc Honda. The Press was Brit biased but couldn’t conceal a 76mph top speed and that the Honda had 8" twin leading shoe brakes both ends. The Manx Norton racer was still in production in 1959 and only had one at the front.
Honda also offered a race kit for the Benly as it was called. 10,500 rpm in 1959.

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Very good!
My first hot-rod-to-be was a peach of an E93A Pop, solid and ripe. TPL 88, paid £10 for it.
Had it about 2 weeks before my mother scrapped it!
Led to a wreck of a Y Type Ford, 1937, which became a very good hot rod to me through the 70's/ 80's. Very happy days.
Pops allowed so much to be done and achieved by some very talented car people, we know who they are and what they produced.
Nice when they are done up a bit:
What a fabulous looking Benley!
Hondas are just great bikes to work on, wish I had kept my restoration from a few years back.

Almost looks like a model, but it's real...
Several aircooled cars in this picture, but no Porsche 911.
Although there is one 6 cilinder aircooled car in this picture; you know which one that is???
It's better to burn out, than to fade away

When we were kids my dad used to let us sit in the box trailer towed by his beetle whilst driving round the country lanes!orkneydave wrote:Love that the ice cream lady has stayed in the trailer!
