Was just having a read through 101 projects for your 911 and read that there's a "high likelihood of damaging the aluminium threads" if the car isn't stone cold when changing plugs. This was a bit worrying as am pretty sure the car was slightly warm when I last did it. Don't remember torquing them up very high but how will i know if I've damaged the threads ? Are they goner be impossible to get out again ? Goner buy a torque wrench for the next service to make sure its all done properly.
cheers

Re: plug change
Always wind in the plugs by hand and just the final quarter turn or so with the torque wrench. I think you should be alright if you haven’t tightened them like a gorilla.

Re: plug change
I use the tool, that comes in the tool kit for the spark plugs, if i did not have one, i would use a bit of rubber hose to turn them in by hand then torque in 2 stages to around 25nm. The rubber hose will slip if it starts to cross thread. Good tip straight out of an older haynes manual!!
