Indoor car cover.

Post by 911GP »

Hi - i"m looking to buy an indoor car cover for my 73 car. It should be breathable, ideally light grey or off-white in colour and just plain (no logos) and it should be gentle on car paint too (obviously). Can you recommend any particular ones?
thanks

Hi Gitesh

I have a couple of classic additions super soft indoor car covers and really like them. Keeps the dust off but limited protection from bumps. Compact when off the car.

I have a Classic Additions soft cover which offers a little bump protection but doesn't look very sexy. Quite bulky when off the car and too big to fit in a domestic washing machine if it gets grubby. Keeps the dust off and feels sturdy.

I have bought several covers here: https://www.covercar.com/en-us/catalog/car

Reliable company, fantastic quality and fit and a great range of covers tailored to Porsches (and others)

I have the Classic Addition ones for all my cars. They are nice but as pointed out, attract dirt and washing in my experience diminishes the softness. I get them at Goodwood where they usually do some sort of discount.....

A bunch of other crap (according to my wife)

I've got one of these:

Fits well, and quite fun, but I'm not sure they are really worthwhile. More harm than good, scratch-wise? The cars don't really get very dusty in the garage...
So I reckon it's not going to see much use.

If on your search for the perfect cover you come across a loose throw over cover please let me know, I think I'd prefer it to a fitted cover.

Something like this......

That appears to be very similar to a sheet! Shouldn't be too hard to source.

Thank you, all. Some good choices. To be honest, I quite like the idea of a loose fitting sheet too.
