1600cc 356 engine rebuilt by Francis Tuthill. Purchased from Gantspeed who certified the engine being in perfect condition. Following a lengthy restoration the engine was finally fitted into my 356 last year but has covered no more than 300 miles. It was removed from my 356 following a road accident, to the front of the car I would add, but a change of plans has meant the engine is now surplus to requirements. It runs really strong but has never been over 4000rpm due to gearbox problems with the car. It is fitted with Weber 40 IDF carbs with K & N filters and has a new 12v alternator. It is complete with clutch and throw out bearing and Dansk exhaust with excellent heat exchangers. I paid 10k for this engine and it's now for sale at £6500.

This was the engine in the car running an electric fuel pump and MSD ignition.
