Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
Hello. Here's a collection of Porsche literature I recently acquired. I love this stuff.
I see people reproducing this kind of thing. Does anyone know, what are the copyright implications of such endeavours?

No idea about copyright, but you've acquired some lovely pieces there.

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
A really great collection, It's always useful to know how these cars of ours work and a lot of this literature is becoming very valuable these days.
As for copyright implications, copies of Porsche manuals and diagrams are readily available from many sources. While he was alive Charlie White, over on the 356 Registry, reproduced just about any piece of Porsche 356 literature he could lay his hands on and sold it freely on the internet.
I have his reprinted workshop manual for my A which is invaluable although the photos (of which there are many) are reproduced very poorly.
His website is still up and running.

Reprints of the wiring diagrams are available from many different sellers in different formats.

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
There’s one particularly nice nugget in there that quite a few owners would like to lay their hands upon I’m sure.
Lovely collection. A lot of interesting reading for sure.

Mike

Thanks for the replies.
Mycar - I know that sadly Charlie White died. I also know that someone on the registry has taken over the website but not sure if the sale of literature is still active. Do you know if the literature archive was also transferred?
By the way, the Super 90 booklet (for 356B) is brilliant. It looks typed with images cut out and glued in : )

For me it would be the colour codes and material samples manual...210bhp wrote:There’s one particularly nice nugget in there that quite a few owners would like to lay their hands upon I’m sure.

Unfortunately, I think all these folders are parts catalogues. The material samples & damage codes both have parts within. I guess these folders were used when the originals failed? Such a shame : (

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
You can buy Charlie White's Literature book from Blocks Books, don't know about the rest of his reprints though.
What are the paint test reports? Can't remember seeing those before.

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
According to the 356 Registry Charlie's daughter is continuing his business so you might be able to buy from the his web site

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
the last time I saw those two original Carrera owners manuals was at Essen several years ago and the vendor was asking about 500 euro each !
I got a reprint of the C2C Carrera manual for 40 euros about 20 metres away from Eckert's.
cheers

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
Thanks very much for the replies. That's good news about DerWhite archive.
It's also interesting to see prices of some of this literature I have. All might not be lost after all ; )
Anyway, here's a photo of the paint reports. It's funny that there are several different coloured carbon copies for each (see left margin)
The left ones are original with all carbon sheets and I have about 10. The right ones are single sheet copies but all were originally from AFN.

Re: Another recent aquisition - Porsche literature
Does this person have any history files from AFN? I'm still trying to find the original Reg of my car without much luck.
