If you want to go down the fat tyre trick suspension kind of project...why not the 964 route. That would be a Car different enough from your early cars to give you a definite choice of different driving experience

My Tangerine 3.5 (from a 1986 3.2) 3.0RS lookey likey is available, needing a bit of paintwork. It is definitely not overtyred

....not yet Mark but fingers crossed; somebody else has first dibs and then there's the issue that the seller would really like it to remain a C3 although I'm hoping that can be overcome.

Many thanks for all the suggestions although the purpose of the thread was really to get a steer on value and I think it's about right unless anyone can point me in the direction of a good solid complete SC coupe around the £20K mark which I don't think are out there?

FWIW, I wasn't actually looking for a project just yet and this car came to light when a friend asked my advice on obtaining a COA, he has a potential buyer and I said I'd step in if that didn't happen......

....dreaming mainly but I've always liked the idea of building a 66/67 SWB into a very subtle R-inspired Gentleman's racer fitted with a 2.2MFI, the second preference was for a wide car and with a lot of ST/RSR's out there I've lent towards a 3.0RS build.....no particular reason for either, just what I like.

Neither project may ever come to fruition but I'm forever hopeful and willing and this car will be a great basis for the latter if it happens.

Cheers,
Tosh

If you don't mind LHD, probably better off with something like this and save the poor Carrera 3.0!

.....I actually prefer LHD although I'm afraid this C3 is now in the hands of destiny......rest assured it'll be more that just a trick paint job with a glass front bumper and will hopefully be far closer to the photos I posted at the beginning of this thread.

That said I do appreciate the Carrera 3.0 is a very rare car and I'm no philistine so if someone feels strongly enough to rescue this car from its fate and is willing to pay me a worthwhile profit on £30K, which I'll split with the previous owner, then I'm all ears!

I must admit Sienna Red isn't the worst colour in the world and is actually growing on me....

Image

....although not sure I could live with this! :pukeright: .....

Image

.....but then surely every C3 when born would have looked around and hope to one day grow up to be a 3.0RS! 8) .....

....especially those born in Sienna with Tan!
