Luftgekühlt !
Looks like this is coming to the UK, which means that sooner or later I'll need to know how to pronounce it.
Up till now, whenever I've spotted it coming up in a sentence, I've started reading more quickly so I can get past it without pronouncing it in my head.
It has become the L word.
So how do you pronounce Luftgekühlt ?..... there's less than a month to practice.

Pedants Corner. Not sure that the first bit is correct. It is a relatively hard "u" sound as there is no 'umlaut' over the "u". Your illustration of the sound of the "u" in kuhlt seems about right where the umlaut softens and lengthens the vowel sound.Lightweight_911 wrote:.

Pretty sure its pronounced:
Luftgerkhunt
3 syllables. Easier to remember that way.

Three syllables is what Andy illustrated. But definately no "ger" and no "hunt" either.Kenyon wrote:Pretty sure its pronounced:
