Wow. I forgot just how bad that one was!

I remember using a brief break in the downpour Sunday am to pack up before going back to the circuit, then deciding we’d had enough and driving all the way back home 600 miles in torrential rain!

You'll have a great time. Went 2016 and it was hot.

Some highlights

- Drive down - Just incredible array of kit from Folkestone. Getting onto the Route Nationals for a bit is good. (If you can by-pass Rouen all the better. Seems to be the convergence of a load of Autoroutes.)

- There's a bar in a couple of stacked shipping containers halfway down the Mulsanne straight (I think). Its a little quieter than around the grandstands and has a top deck. Amazing place to watch the the cars fly past as the sun goes down with a cold beer.

- Paddock Passes (I think they were extra tickets) and wander round the Paddock.

- Drinks in the Paddock bar about midnight with the various cars passing through (back to pits?) are great.

Not so good
- The food in the takeaway areas was pricey (which is expected) except it was terrible and queues large. Also very limited choice. Not much way round that.
- Getting too and from the circuit if you are BnB or house renting. Get your taxi order in in good time and find an obvious place to get picked up.

Buy before you go and get the paddock passes as these are essential ( not sure if you can buy paddock passes on the gate)

The Porsche Centre was worth a trip too (subject to below), to the extent they had some nice examples lined up and we had a quick drink quite close to the track.

I would say it wasn't particularly welcoming - suspect because they must have been tired of people trying to blag their way in for free drinks. As we walked in a guy that worked there claimed we were the rudest people he had ever met and then said he was not prepared to apologise.

Which was all odd as we hadn't got round to speaking yet and we didn't ask for an apology. He then huffed off so we went in anyway.

Buy tickets now- you can get them direct from the ACO site -Porsche Club France is sold out.

They speak English on the phone if you need to.
As previously mentioned you must get paddock passes!

...Or if you happen to be in Paris, you can even buy them from the ACO shop there. I popped in on Thursday:
