FS: set of 2 Cibié hood rally lights

Post by vricardo »

Here is a brand NEW and complete set of 2 Cibié hood rally lights, known as "Cibié Pallas".
Never used or mounted and therefore in excellent mint condition modern replica lights, with a slight discount over the market price from the original vendor – one of our american fellow members Eric, from www.autoforeignservices.com
Asking 450 Euro+ shipping.
Paypal accepted.
Thank you.

Hello, just a reminder that these are still for sale and in absolute mint condition.
My asking price reflects a saving of almost 70 Euro compared to the major European specialized websites like Sportwagen Eckert.
Thank you.

Hi, thanks for asking.
I really can't tell the difference... but I can assure you that although the lights are clearly branded Cibié, there are SEV Marchal stickers inside the shells, behind the lights.
If it helps I can email good high-res pictures from other angle or details by request.
Just drop me a PM.
Cheers,
Vasco Ricardo

Sure YES!
Why not???
They're shared the same "parent company" Valeo (former Ferodo) since the 70s and from my experience, parts from both brands are interchangeble. This is precisely one of those situations and, again, if any prospect buyers are really interested in this deal, I can email good high-res pictures from other angle or details by request.
Anyway you all can find some interesting info about both brands intertwined past in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnYtnAbqOiA
But if anyone has some real and deep understanding/knowledge of this matter, please feel free to step in.
Cheers,
Vasco Ricardo

According the blue paint of the housings, these are reproductions and they are a little overpriced.
A complete set reproduction Cibie hood lights are for sale on Ebay for less than 500 euros

Thank you for your input.
I've only checked the websites, not eBay.
Price now updated accordingly.

But of course!
I've checked eBay (as you stated) and adjusted my price!
Isn't that the correct thing to do???
My previous price refference was this, for 339,00 euro each:

Hi

If it helps clarify Partswise have these same versions at 471 Euros a set, excluding VAT. Obviously with guarantee etc one would expect from a retailer.

Interesting video on the history of Cibie and SEV Marchal. It says SEV Marchal was bought by Valeo (who owned Cibie) in 1979. Should I infer from that that the SEV Marchal version of the Pallas lamp wasn’t made until after this date? They are identical to the Cibie version save for the pattern on the lens. I thought I had seen pics of the SEV Marchal “Pallas” equipped cars from the late 60s. Am I imagining that? Might seem a pedantic question but am wondering if I can put the SEV Marchal lights I have on an early car.
